  The new Peugeot e-Expert has been named 'International Van of The Year 2021' . The new Peugeot e-Expert is the first LCV offering to come as part of Peugeot's commitment to providing a fully electrified LCV range by the end of 2021. This is the sixth Peugeot vehicle awarded the prestigious International Van of The Year trophy since the awards began in 1992.   The transition to electric trucks will bring substantial job cuts over the next 15 years , according to Martin Daum, CEO of Daimler Trucks. The German manager has indicated that the transition to 'zero emissions' electric trucks will be accompanied by job cuts in European truck engine factories, eliminating half of the jobs in some cases. Daimler Trucks , which brings together several brands with Mercedes-Benz at the helm, is currently the largest truck manufacturer in the world and is moving towards electrification, with both battery and fuel cell electric trucks powered by hydrogen. In both cases, both batteries and fuel cells have fewer moving parts and require less labour than combustion engines and a conventional powertrain. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Group presented a purely electrically driven distribution truck. The new electric light truck is called  Volkswagen e-Delivery and is built at Volkswagen Caminhões in Brazil. While the conventional diesel versions of Volkswagen Delivery has already entered the market in South America, the E-Delivery is not expected until 2020. The Volkswagen e-Delivery electric truck will be a true World-Truck: the company is planning to sell it in over 30 countries including EU countries . The GVW range is from 3.5 to 13.5 tonnes for the diesel version as well as for the e-Delivery. The electric motor, which is backed up by a lithium-ion battery pack, feeds 109PS (107hp) to the two-wheel drive system, with its total driving range said to be up to 200km (124miles).   Daimler Trucks is focusing on hydrogen-powered fuel-cells for the electrification of its vehicles for flexible and demanding long-haul transport. It aims to achieve ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres and more without any stops for refuelling. In late April, the truck manufacturer began to conduct rigorous tests of the first new enhanced prototype of its Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck, which was unveiled in 2020. This marks an important milestone on the path to series production. During these tests, the developers at Daimler Trucks are putting the fuel-cell vehicle through its paces.
