Crossover Cupra Formentor: the first independent model of the sub-brand
In early March, the Spaniards declassified the serial version of the Cupra Formentor crossover, a concept version of which was presented a year earlier. The new model is named after a wild headland in the north of Mallorca and is the first standalone model of the Seat sub-brand. The coupe-like SUV received an aggressive front end design with squinted LED headlights and round fog lights located under them. The car has a small hexagonal radiator grille, and the front bumper has a large central air intake and vertical ventilation slots on the sides.
Formentor's well-defined wheel arches feature 19-inch wheels in the base, which can be painted in a striking bronze finish, while the model also features sculptural sidewalls with a stylish shoulder line. The main element of the stern is the taillights combined with each other by a luminous strip. The body colour palette of 2021 Cupra Formentor is presented in several shades: Urban Silver, Midnight Black, Magnetic Tech and Candy White (all metallics). Plus, the car can be ordered in three exclusive colours (Graphene Gray, Dark Camouflage and Desire Red), as well as two matte colours (Petrol Blue and Magnetic Tech).
The interior of the Cupra Formentor sports crossover is finished with high-quality materials, including polished aluminium inserts and bronze accents. In the interior of the car, bucket seats are installed, which can be covered with black or blue leather. The car also has ambient LED lighting, a truncated steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster with a customizable dial design. The multimedia system can be controlled from a 12.0-inch touchscreen, although the complex also recognizes voice commands and gestures. Plus it's compatible with Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto (wired).

It is reported that the crossover can be ordered with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo engine producing 310 hp. (400 Nm), which works with a seven-speed DSG robot and an all-wheel-drive system. As an alternative, a hybrid PHEV version has been prepared, where a 1.4-litre TSI for 150 "mares" is combined with a 115-horsepower electric motor built into a six-speed preselector. The latter draws power for operation from a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery. The peak output of the eHybrid drive reaches 245 hp and 400 Nm, while on one electric traction the off-road vehicle can travel up to 50 km (according to the WLTP cycle). The equipment list for Cupra Formentor also includes an adaptive suspension.
